All you ballers polish off your A game because the most dynamic basketball league in the region will be hosting the first ever AABL 3-on-3 Shootout sponsored by Brian Tabinga, Independent Financial Strategist! The sparks are set to fly on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the comfy new confines of Chesapeake Bay Academy on Baker Road in Virginia Beach, VA. This will be a double-elimination tournament with the Champions taking home trophies, t-shirts and a generous prize package from local sponsors!
The Shootout will be open to all ages, races, and genders and each team is allowed 4 to 5 players, but, because we are the Asian American Basketball League, at least half the team's players must be of Asian descent-- according to the Rules and Guidelines of AABL league play. So if you have a 5 player roster at least 3 of the players must be of Asian descent. The AABL reserves the right to question a player's eligibility regarding this rule and also reserves the right to disallow ANY team from participating if it feels it is in violation of this and ANY rule.
All teams are guaranteed two games. Games will be 20 minutes long. Referees from the Southeastern Virginia Basketball Official’s Association will be on the court to officiate the game's. Team must provide their own MATCHING player jerseys with numbers. Players can only play for one team. More in-depth information concerning the Rules and Regulations will be posted on the website soon.
The entry fee for the Shootout is $125/TEAM on or before September 29. The entry fee after September 29 will be $150/TEAM To register, click on the REGISTER ONLINE link and enter the necessary information. If you have trouble with this please contact us at the below email address.
Concessions will be offered for the entire day and a DJ will be spinning to keep the scene hype. So even if you're not playing come check us and share in the fun. The AABL 2008 3-on-3 SHOOTOUT will be another competitive and entertaining event for everyone!
