Things continue to get hot and heavy in the AABL. Many of the teams have already secured their spots in the postseason, but the battle for an automatic pass through the first round is up for grabs and within the reach of quite a few teams. The teams with the top two DIVISIONAL RECORDS in EACH DIVISION will automatically qualify for the playoffs and receive FIRST ROUND BYES. The remaining teams will be ranked in the playoffs according to their OVERALL RECORD. 12 of the league's 14 team's will qualify for postseason play. In Week 7 play, teams looked sharp and most brought their "A" game. Short-staffed Skymax made the mistake of trying to run with the energetic Prodigies and paid for it with another losing effort as their winless season continues. Warriors have seemed to find their groove in the league as they looked confident and in control for the full 40 against a Wolves team which is desperately scrapping to make a run at the playoffs. After a suprising loss to the Warriors in Week 6, Forwarders bounced back and outgunned a deadly Venom squad which couldn't hit the shots when they needed them. D.O.C. stepped it up and looked like the energetic, speedy team from last year as they outlasted a Rebels team that is hungry for another run at the playoffs. Blazers continue to look stronger as the weeks go on as they handled a Dream Team squad that is looking for some offensive consistency and teamwork. The Bulldogs shook up the standings a bit as they played tremendous basketball and beat up a stunned Raptors team that couldn't get consistent stops on the defensive end. The main event of the day-- and possibly a playoff preview-- was a well-played battle in which the 2007 Champion Quiet Storm executed some big plays late in the game to pull off a big bragging rights win over Squires.
The last two weeks of AABL regular season action will be loaded with excitement as the intensity on the court will only continue to escalate. So stay tuned to this website for more updates!
