SHOWDOWN Team Profile: DREAM TEAM

After two years of making a good run into the league playoffs, Dream Team will attempt to take the SHOWDOWN crown with a re-tooled and recuperated squad. They have suffered some injuries but the squad is bringing a formidable nucleus of C James Oaks, swingman Mike Oaks, and G Mike Macareg. The addition of Harold San Antonio to the mix should give DT another versatile scoring option and more strong minutes from F Jason Healy could be important.

Dream Team went from a scrappy, perimeter-oriented team their first season to a half-court, post up team their second time around. DT has the tools to get it done in the paint but player movement gets stagnant after the ball enters the post. DT is effective at scoring in different ways, but if their jump shooting is hot then you can expect a tough game. They like to push the ball upcourt when they get an opportunity. DT plays tough energetic defense and good rebounding doesn't allow too many second-change opportunities for their opponent. The guards gamble a bit for steals but are quick on-the-ball defenders when needed, although this team seldom plays man up defense. James Oaks held down the paint during league play (1.9 blks/gm-- 2nd). Like a plague in the AABL, DT is a poor free throw shooting team (54% FT). Dream Team is at their best when things are going well; they're at their worst when they complain about not playing their best(?)

This team is not easily shook and they tend to step it up depending on the competition-- which is a good and a bad thing. The SHOWDOWN will give Dream Team the chance to show that they can close out big games against some of the best teams in the AABL and out-of-town.

Dream Team Roster: George Fulgham, Greg, Jason Healy, Jason Hsu, Michael Macareg, James Oaks, Mike Oaks, Harold San Antonio, Herbert San Antonio, JC Victoria
