Congrats to the FORWARDERS for taking the AABL 3-on-3 SHOOTOUT CROWN! The Forwarders consisted of Kevin Alig, Rich Hilliard, Scott Howe, and Ryan Pauling. Although the field was small for the AABL's first-ever 3-on-3 format tournament, the competition didn't disappoint as some of the best players in the AABL came out to show their stuff. The Forwarders came away without a loss in the double elimination tournament although some teams gave them a good run for their money. In the first round, the Raptors led by the hot-shooting of Calvin Morris and Mel Right forced the Forwarders into high scoring, outside shooting duel-- a battle in which the Forwarders successfully fought and won. And in the Championship match, a young Prodigies team pushed them to the limit with an Aaron Brown last second shot from three point range to send the game into overtime. But the Forwarders were clicking on all cylinders all day long and would not be denied the win-- outlasting the Prodigies in OT to take home the SHOOTOUT title! The champs took home Championship t-shirts and $75 in gift cards for each player. Congrats to ALL the ballers for coming out and playing big-time basketball! Next year we expect a bigger turnout and better prizes for the champs and participants, but all in all it was a successful first year of the AABL 3-on-3 SHOOTOUT!
