This looked to be the game of the day as two one-loss team tipped off against each other. This result was surprising as well – the Prodigies were never in the game as Venom just went off. The Prodigies, at least for the first two weeks, played with uncanny poise and grace for such a youthful team. Those qualities were absent, especially in the final 20 minutes, as the Prodigies allowed Venom to score 50 points in the second half. Venom, with the win, bounced back from a Week 3 loss to the Raptors and thus has won 3 of their last 4. Venom boasted five double-digit scorers, led by Shinobu Nagata’s game-high 17. Nagata also contributed 7 reb, 3 ast & 3 stl in the winning effort while Mike Marasigan had 14 pts, 6 reb, 7 ast & 3 stl. The Prodigies were led by Earl Mallory with 12 pts, 6 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl & 2 blk. Domingo Ramos had a solid game as well with 11 pts, 8 reb, 2 ast & 4 blk. Prodigies had four double-digit scorers but they didn’t take care of the ball (Venom had 15 stl as a team) and struggled to stop anyone defensively. jv
