Venom unveiled a dangerous new weapon in their Round 1 win against Skymax. Venom's Anthony Harris didn't take long to show off his weapons, outsizing everyone on the court (and the league) and dominating the game above the rim. Harris hit em up for 25 pts, 12 rebs, 4 asts, 5 blks, 2 stls to go along with a few impressive dunks in traffic. Matched up with Shinobu Nagata's slashing, three-point popping game (22 pts, 6 threes, 7 rebs, 4 asts), Venom looked like an unstoppable team-- on the offensive end. Skymax was able to keep it a respectable game throughout, playing some of their best team ball of the season and getting their highest point total of the season. Dan Taitague was unintimidated by the height disadvantage, getting a solid 21 pts, 7 rebs, 2 asts performance and complemented by the hustling play of Andre McMullen (10 pts, 8 rebs, 3 stls). Skymax's Brim Daniels played solid ball from the guard spot contributing 13 pts, 4 rebs. Venom's quick start (36-23 at the half) helped them cruise to the W, but Skymax was able to play them neck and neck in the second (outscored 38-36 in the second) to make it a respectable final performance of the year. Venom's win moved them into a quarterfinal matchup against the Prodigies. FD
