(45) Blazers vs. (43) D.O.C., Week 3
This proved to be the most exciting game of the day. The Blazers played well but nearly gave D.O.C. the victory with poor clock management late in the game. They were able to squeak by with the second consecutive victory only after Theo Jamison’s last second three-point attempt grazed off the rim. Jamison (2 reb, 5 ast, 4 stl) led all scorers with 14 points in a game with little offense. Calvin Morris (13 pts, 3 threes, 5 reb) had a strong game for D.O.C. AABL journeyman Larry Johnson had a huge game. He contributed 23 pts, 18 reb, 2 stl & 1 blk. The Blazers trailed by nine at halftime but went on a 17-2 run to start the second half that gave them the lead. The Blazers held onto a 40-34 lead with 3:58 left, but they refused to slow the ball down and burn some clock. They missed some big FT’s down the stretch which eventually led to the climactic finish. jv
