Prodigies
Game 2 –
Prodigies 71 (1-0, 1-0) @ Bulldogs 60 (0-1, 0-1)
The young Prodigies squad came ready to play and despite their status as a 1st year club in the AABL displayed strength and maturity as they made a path to their first victory of the season. This game was played above the rim as both squads showcased 6’8” centers in Curtis Pender (14 pts, 11 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk for the Bulldogs) and Roynell (13 pts, 8 reb, 2 ast, 1 blk for Prodigies). The Prodigies were a little tentative in the early going but settled down behind stellar play from John (13 pts, 1 stl) and Aaron (12 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast, 1 stl). Veteran Jon Allmond, with their new acquisition, looked more comfortable out in the perimeter, leading all scorers with 24 points, 2 reb, 3 ast and 4 stl, but he and the rest of his teammates had trouble stopping their opponents at key times in the game. The big difference came from the perimeter as the Prodigies hit seven threes as a team. Four of those triples came in the 2nd half as the Prodigies scored 44 of their 71 in the final twenty minutes.
