Game 5 – Wolves 37 (0-1, 0-1) @ Forwarders 57 (1-0, 1-0)

The Forwarders came out looking to make amends for their 3-7 finish last season. This victory was a step in the right direction as they easily handled the Wolves.Kevin Alig had a double-double, putting in 18 pts, 11 reb (both game-highs), 5 ast, 3 stl and 2 blk. He and the rest of the Forwarders played some stifling defense all game and offensively shared the ball well (14 team assists to 23 FG’s). The Forwarders’ Rich Hilliard showed off his range as he scored 12 points, all from behind the arc. The Wolves looked out of sync all game and showed that they have some scoring issues. Gene Flores was the team’s only double-digit scorer, leading the Wolves with a team-high 13 points & 7 rebounds. They played tough all game but they had no one to match-up to Alig. The Wolves also had trouble in their defensive transition as the Forwarders were able to get a lot of easy buckets off the break.
