The Rebels for the second year in a row are starting off slowly. They are still trying to gel together as a team since they have so many new acquisitions. But the AABL doesn’t have a preseason so they’ve had to take their lumps. It’s early in the season and hopefully their fortunes will turn around like in 2007. The Raptors looked pretty good last week & were certainly on point today. They handed the Rebels their second consecutive loss, winning going away. Mel Wright followed up his strong Week 1 performance with a game-high 24 points, 7 reb, 1 ast and 1 blk. The Raptors used tough man defense almost all game and as a result not one Rebel player could score in double-digits. Joe Marlowe, riding a horrid cold streak shooting the ball, led the Rebels with 7 points. jv
