(34) Skymax vs. (58) Bulldogs, Week 3
Skymax has had some major troubles this season. In spite of a strong showing in Week 1 against Dream Team, they are averaging just under 30 points a game while their average margin of defeat is 15.3. Skymax continued that trend in Week 3 as the Bulldogs started the game with a 12-0 run. The Bulldogs used that strong start to take a 20 point lead at halftime. That was more than enough for them to pick up their first victory of the season (and help their cause in the Red Division). Reigning league MVP Jon Allmond beat up on Skymax from everywhere on the court, leading his Bulldogs with a game-high 19 pts (3 threes), 11 reb, 3 ast, 1 stl & 1 blk. He got some help from newcomer Curtis Pender who contributed 11 pts, 8 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl & 2 blk. Andre McMullen continues to be the exception to the rule as he performed admirably for Skymax. He led them with 12 pts, 12 reb & 1 stl but didn’t get much support as his teammates are having trouble finding the basket. Right now the Skymax losing streak is at 12, including their 0-9 season in 2007… jv
