This was a well-played game and a very important early season Blue Division matchup. Thanks to a “quiet” 29 from swingman Mel Wright, the Raptors were able to pick up their third consecutive win with a well-earned 7-point victory. Wright also contributed 9 reb, 3 ast, 4 stl & 3 blk for the Raptors. Venom was also riding a two-game win streak and it seemed like they were looking to outshoot their opponent. They featured three double-digit scorers in Shinobu Nagata (team-high 14 pts, 2 threes, 6 reb), Mike Marasigan (1 reb, 3 threes) and Nic Torres (11 reb, 1 blk) with 12 each. Venom has proven that they can shoot the ball with anyone but in the second half they had no one who could defend Wright. Also, the Raptors started the game with a 14-4 run which helped them immensely down the stretch. Venom was able to stop Wright’s teammates for the most part (Kyle Hermoso was the only other Raptor with double-digit scoring) but were unable to top the Raps… jv
