(45) Wolves vs. (41) Rebels, Week 3
The Wolves, paced by K.V. Cruz (team-high 11 pts, 2 reb, 2 ast, 3 stl, 1 blk), were able to pick up their first victory of the season with a close four point win. Gene Flores (10 pts, 6-9 FT’s, 1 reb, 1 stl) had a solid game in support of Vito-Cruz. The victory ended a 2 game slide for the veteran squad – the Rebels on the other hand have dropped all three of their games so far. Brandon Rice made a huge effort to get the Rebels their first win in the AABL – he led all scorers with 20 points. Rice also had a game-high 9 rebounds along with 1 assist and 2 blocks. Conrad Calpito was able to contribute 10 pts, 3 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl & 1 blk for the Rebels, but no one else could lend support. The game was fairly close throughout but the Wolves held as much as a 6 point led for most of the game. Though the Rebels hit seven triples as a team they couldn’t find the bucket from within, only managing 10 points off of 5 FG’s. The Wolves were also able to hit their free throws down the stretch to take home the win… jv
